Happy Friday, everyone! Right Down Euclid hopes that you’re having a great week and we also have some news to share! No, it’s not the Dacia Sandero. Rather, the Cleveland Monsters, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets, have given Right Down Euclid credentialed access to start covering the future of hockey both on the shores of Lake Erie as well as in the state’s capital!

Sure, the AHL season has been rolling along for a while now and the Monsters have played plenty of hockey. In fact, they’re 38 games into the season as of writing this and will be kicking off game 39 at home tonight against Laval Rocket, the AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. It’ll be the first game Right Down Euclid covers in person this AHL season and certainly won’t be the last either.

This will be a fun, new journey to partake in and cover a squad that has a lot of potential but still needs time to grow professionally. What excites me about that is we’re able to learn and grow about my hockey coverage along the way as well. It’s not going to be perfect at first but, as always, I promise to continue providing the coverage that you the reader desires to help the community at Right Down Euclid feel more inclusive for anyone and everyone that loves Cleveland and the surrounding sports scene.

With the Monsters entering the fold, Right Down Euclid now has credentialed access with them as well as with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Guardians and the Cleveland Charge. Hopefully, the Cleveland Browns come into play soon enough but none of this access or coverage would be possible without reader support like yours. Whether it’s paid support or just simply reading the content Right Down Euclid produces, it all leads to our greater vision of changing the way Cleveland and their sports teams are covered forever.

In fact, the idea to start covering the Cleveland hockey scene at large started with a supporter, like you, reaching out to me directly to find a way to start covering the team. For that, I’m thankful that someone was hoping to see something more tailored to their preferences. Again, Right Down Euclid is a growing community and it’ll continue to be built by the village and anyone who supports it financially.

Keep your eyes peeled for a story all about this weekend’s double-header between Cleveland and Laval on Monday morning. If you’re subscribed to Right Down Euclid‘s newsletter then you won’t miss it when it hits your inbox. But, if you aren’t – you should fix that! I promise you that it’ll be worth your while.
